Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. What do you get your girlfriend, boyfriend, wife, husband, partner or significant other as a gift?
Idea 1 – For the men to gift the women
Gift them a day of pampering and fun and at the end of it they will have beautiful images of themselves they can share with you and family and friends.
By having a professional portrait taken, they can choose to reflect the real them in any way:
• indoors in their favourite formal gown or in their favourite outfit.
• outdoors to record an activity they love to do such as at the beach, horse-riding, or reading a book in the park.
Idea 2 – For the women to gift the men
Gift the pampering and fun part to yourself and then gift the beautiful images of yourself to your partner. I am sure your man would cherish beautiful, natural, elegant images of you. You can bring in 4-6 different outfits which can be dresses, favourite jeans, or even some lovely lingerie. The choice is totally up to you.
Idea 3 – for either man or women to gift their partner
Even better than that, come in together and have portraits taken. I use the Beloved technique for a couples shoot which gives me a way to invite enjoyable experiences for the you while I capture stunning and beautiful photos. It is all about the true connection between you.
Each image conveys a sincere, genuine and honest interaction between you. Even with reserved or shy people.
It assists me in moving beyond the “fake say cheese smile” to capture the authentic, effortless and beautiful sides of your personalities that you naturally share with your loved one.
There will be a pre-shoot consultation where we design the portrait shoot on what to bring or wear. Then when the portraits have been taken, the model comes back to choose their images. There are beautiful wall portraits or if they purchase 6 or more images, they come in a gorgeous portfolio box for safe keeping.
So if you want to gift your loved one the perfect Valentine’s present this year, gift them a voucher for a portrait photoshoot. There is 20$ off gift cards until Valentine’s day by entering VALENTINE18 at the checkout in my store.
I had the opportunity to photograph the lovely Shizu last year. She won a gift voucher at the meetup event for Unstoppable Business Owners Accelerating Healthy Success. She wanted some Personal Branding images for her business.
She runs a shop called Araki, which specialises in selling real and beautiful Japanese antiques and collectables.
As part of her pre-shoot consultation, we discussed what style of images she would like. She wanted friendly inviting photos showcasing her warm caring nature and image with a light background such as light grey or white. It is best to match the tone of your clothes to the tone of the background so in this case she wore a white dress.
I also took images that could be adapted into different formats (e.g. Profile pictures, marketing materials, banners in a Square, Landscape or Portrait format). Your images can be used on Social Media, your Website or in printed marketing materials such as flyers/brochures.
The first image is what I took from the camera but it can also be adapted to look like the other images just by the way it is cropped. Shizu asked if I could extend the background upwards so that she could crop the image the way she needed. This is possible if it is a plain background in most cases. If you are not confident cropping the image yourself, I can include whichever formats you require for each image.
If you are unsure what style and look you would like for your personal branding images, you can get some ideas by looking online. Google can be your friend in helping to decide this. To search for images, click the “Images” menu under the google search box. Start with searching for images in your industry to get ideas. For example, for personal coaching try “coach personal branding photos” or for a financial planner try “financial planner headshot photos”. Each industry is different so it is best to start off with searching for images you want that are similar to that industry.
Take note of photos or styles that you like and perhaps even bring them with you when consulting with a photographer so they get an idea what you are looking for. If you don’t find anything that you like or that resonates with you, start searching for industries in related fields of work. You can also try searching for generic terms such as personal branding, corporate or headshots and see if anything comes up that you like.
If you need to get some personal branding images taken, please contact me now to book to come in for a face-to-face consultation where we will design your shoot and then capture the right images to best demonstrate this.
